Denis Revi

Denis

I am Denis Revi, the second youngest of nine children to my parents Jean-Clet and Marie Jeanne D'Arc. I was born on the 15th August 1979 in a tiny little village on the north west cost of the island of Malekula in Vanuatu. I was brought up in a very Catholic family and was educated at Catholic Schools.

I had enjoyable but challenging years during my school years as a border. At Montmatre College I was taught by the Sacred Heart brothers. At 15 1 was so inspired by their way of life and spirituality that I became an aspirant with them for three years. Despite thinking of brotherhood over these years, I felt my call was to something other than a religious brother. So one day, I went to the school chaplain who happened to be a Marist priest and expressed my desire to become a priest. Thus began my journey into Marist life.

And so, in 2000, 1 entered the Marist Seminary in Fiji as a postulant. My first year in the Seminary was quite an experience. In 2001, I was back in the seminary for my second year as a postulant and then in 2002 1 did my novitiate at the Marist Novitiate in Tutu on the island of Taveuni, in Fiji. My novitiate year was a unique experience and was really a time to discern my call to Marist life. I made my first profession on the 28th December that same year and the following year I was back at the Marist Seminary in Suva.

Towards the end of 2003, I was asked by my provincial to begin My Bachelor of Theology in 2004 at the Marist Seminary in Auckland. I have enjoyed every bit of my time here at the Marist Seminary and I am truly grateful to my formators.
